Blak-Ray UV Meter (top image)
The Blak-Ray UV intensity Meter is a photovoltaic device for measuring
the intensity of UV light sources. This unit is ideal for monitoring germicidal
lamp irradiance, measuring Q.C. inspection lamps, and producing accurate
and repeatable measurements for critical experiments. All Blak-Ray Meters
are certified to be within UVPs published standards and traceable
to the National Bureau of Standards.
The Model J-225 measures the intensity of shortwave UV light sources.
The sensor is sensitive within a range from 220 to 280nm with a maximum
sensitivity at 254nm.
Long wave intensity readings are made with the J-221. The long wave sensor
is sensitive from 300 to 400nm with a peak sensitivity at 365nm. The J-221
is specified for many government applications and complies with government
standards MIL-I-6868D and NSN-6635-488-5451.
Each unit features plug-in type sensors and two scales for low and high
intensity readings. For remote readings, a 4ft (1.22m) extension cord
connects the sensor to the meter. To ensure accurate measurements, an
IR filter is included for measuring lamps which produce infrared radiation.
Also, a reduction screen can be used to attenuate the UV for very high
intensity lamp measurements.
Designed for ease of use operation, the Black-Ray UV Meter provides a
reliable method for monitoring UV light source efficiency.
UVX Radiometer (bottom image)
Maximum operating efficiencies of UV systems rely on proper knowledge
of the lamp intensities. Gradual degradation of UV intensity is very difficult
to detect and measurement of lamp irradiance is the most effective way
to monitor the useful life of any UV light source.
The UVX hand held radiometer is a state of the art measuring device ideal
for obtaining accurate and repeatable UV irradiance measurements. The
unit features three interchangeable probes sensitive in the 254nm, 365nm
and 302nm regions of the ultraviolet spectrum. All sensor calibration
are traceable to National Bureau Standards to ensure precise readings.
The UVX continuously monitors its own power and indicates low voltage
conditions. The unit also includes automatic self-test circuitry, read/hold
switch, measurement range from 0.1 to 19,999 microwatts/cm, 31/2 digit
LCD readout, ±5% accuracy, ±1% linearity, and 120 hour battery
life. Range changes are made with three position range switch. Also the
sensors feature 3 foot (915mm) electrically shielded cables and are designed
to minimise errors due to temperature and humidity effects.
Optional accessories include a tube guide for use with UV tube light sources,
chart recorder output, and a 10:1 attenuator for measuring UV irradiance
levels higher than 19.99 milliwatts/cm .
Built to withstand day-to-day use in laboratory and production environments,
the UVX Radiometer is a complete UV measuring system ready to use and
easy to operate.
